Uniting for jobs - your stories

Posted: 21.05.2009 Uniting for jobs - your stories We're getting more stories back from the thousands of you who went on the March for Jobs over the weekend.

This is what Jane told us: "My motivation for joining the march was to pave the way for future generations who deserve the opportunity to work and provide for themselves and their families. For many years I have been involved in recruiting and training apprentices. I am saddened as so many are losing places due to 'lay offs' and redundancy. This is demoralising for so many young people who are keen to learn and succeed in their chosen occupations.

"I long for much better prospects in the very near future, rather than a return to a soul destroying, dismal era of high unemployment and low self esteem that I was unfortunate enough to witness as I completed my education in the early 1980s."

You can tell us your story too -
